Gabriel Benlolo began his musical studies at the age of 6 with the piano, then began percussion and drums at the age of 11 at the Aubervilliers-La Courneuve National Conservatory where he won his first Percussion and Chamber music Prize unanimously.

He also works with Michel Gastaud at the Conservatoire Municipal du XIIème arrondissement and studies jazz piano and drums jazz, CRR Aubervilliers-La Courneuve. In 1999 he entered the National Conservatory of Music of Paris in the class of Michel Cerutti where he obtained his Higher Education Diploma in 2003 and the prize for chamber music in 2005.

His career allows him to perform with large orchestras such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, the National Orchestra, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Toulouse Capitol Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Ile de France or the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra …. In 2004, he joined the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra as a percussionist and worked with the greatest conductors (Pierre Boulez, Myung Wung Chung, Armin Jordan, Gustavo Dudamel and Mikko Franck) and played everywhere. in the world.

In Parallel, he works on shows mixing music to the theater as a percussionist with Brigitte Jaques-Wajeman and the Pandora Company (“La marmite”, “Pseudolus”, “the Song of Roland” …) on Marc’s music. -Olivier Dupin with whom he will record many projects for television and theater. Following these successful collaborations, Les Tretaux de France commissioned the original music for Jerry Stenner’s “L’Avaleur”, directed by Robin Renucci, then for “Celeste Gronde” by Josephine Chaffin, directed by Nadine Darmon and Marilyne Fontaine.

Always seeking to develop his discipline, in 2003 he co-founded the Beat Quartet, a percussion quartet for which he co-arranges, co-composes and co-creates concert-shows, thus changing the approach of the concert of chamber music. With the Quatuor Beat he won several international awards as a chamber music formation (Gaetano Zinetti in Verona in 2006, Les Européennes d’Alsace in Illzach in 2007) but also for the shows in which he plays (Prix YAMA in Brussels 2012 , YEAH Award in Osnabrück and JUNGE OHREN in Berlin in 2013 for the Drumblebee show). These successes give the ensemble a reputation that allows them to perform in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Passionate about the transmission of knowledge, he has been teaching at Pôle Supérieur 93 since 2009 as a principal percussion teacher, at the Conservatoire municipal du 12ème arrondissement in Paris and every summer at Summer camp Academie de Surgeres since 2002.
