Jérôme GUICHERD is from the Lyon region. Son of a musician, he began playing the piano at the age of 5, then became interested in drums and percussion at the age of 10.
In 1997, he joined the class of Frederic Macarez at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris where he obtained a first prize unanimously in 1999. He was admitted in 2001 to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Michel Cerutti, where he obtained a first prize with honors unanimously in 2003.
Parallel to his studies, he performed in major French orchestras such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, the Opéra de Paris, …
Passionate about Jazz and music from diverse cultures, he also performs regularly with various ensembles as a percussionist, but also as a pianist.
He is currently percussionist of the Orchestre d’harmonie de la Police Nationale, professor of percussion drums at the Conservatoire de Musique de la ville de Clichy la garenne and at the Conservatoire Municipal du 12ème arrondissement de la ville de Paris and a member of the Quatuor Beat.
